GAINES COUNTY – A Seminole man is dead and another was seriously injured following an early morning accident in Gaines County on Thursday.
The accident happened on U.S. Highway 385, approximately seven miles south of Seminole just before 6 a.m.
DPS Troopers tell NewsWest 9 that a 1999 Dodge Durango was traveling southbound on the highway, failed to negotiate a curve and overturned.
A passenger in the vehicle, 21-year-old Aaron Kelley was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials say Kelley wasn't wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The driver of the vehicle, 19-year-old Matthew Garnett was taken to Seminole Memorial Hospital in serious condition.
