ODESSA - Some thieves kept themselves busy Tuesday afternoon in Odessa. They broke into more than 60 storage units at one facility.

The owners of 67 storage units are picking up what's left of their property at A3 Storage Center on the corner of University and Kermit Highway in Odessa.

Police say they've seen break-ins before at storage units but never one of this magnitude.

"These types of burglaries can happen anywhere at anytime," Corporal Steve LeSueur, Public Information Officer of the Odessa Police Department, said.

The break-ins happened around 2:30 in the afternoon in the middle of business hours.

"We have break-ins all the time and it's not uncommon for a few to be broken into but I've never heard of 67 storage units being broken into during the same time period," LeSueur said.

Police say several items were stolen, valued at thousands and thousands of dollars.

Details on how the break-ins happened are limited at this time, but a representative for A3 Storage Centers says they are working diligently with police to catch those responsible and they are examining their security to ensure this never happens again.

The suspects are still on the loose.
