Odessa Police Department Press Release
34-year-old Destiny June Chambless
Odessa Police arrested Chambless on 12-1-14 at approximately 1330 hours for Manufacturing or Delivery of Cocaine “2nd Degree Felony”, Possession of Methamphetamine “State Jail Felony”, and Possession of Marijuana “Class B Misdemeanor”.
Officers responded to 1423 East 2nd Street (Sahara Motel) in reference to a criminal trespass. Officers were advised that the suspect was wearing all black with pink hair. Upon arrival, the owner reported that the suspect was inside one of the motel rooms and advised she did not have permission to be there.
Officers observed a female passenger with pink hair inside a white 2014 Ford F-150, which was traveling eastbound in the 1400 block of East 4th Street. A traffic stop was conducted and the passenger was identified as Chambless. Officers could see an item sticking out from under her shirt. A female officer was called to the scene to search Chambless.
While searching Chambless, officers discovered two crack pipes, a bag of cocaine, 10 empty baggies, a bag containing approximately 2.5 grams of baking soda, 10 crack rocks, 5 syringes, a bag of methamphetamine, a meth pipe, another crack pipe, and an empty digital scale box.
While searching her purse, officers discovered a bag of marijuana, a razor blade, 4 bags containing cocaine residue, a crack pipe, a marijuana pipe, and a brillo pad. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Chambless was charged and arrested accordingly.
52-year-old Dewey Brown
Odessa Police arrested Brown on 12-1-14 at approximately 1621 hours for Possession of Cocaine “State Jail Felony” and Possession of Marijuana “Class A Misdemeanor”. The OPD Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant in the 900 block of Pittsburgh. Upon entering the residence, they observed a male subject, identified as brown.
Officers observed Brown to be in possession of a crack pipe along with several crack rocks. Officers searched Brown and discovered a bag of marijuana inside his pockets, weighing approximately 2.5 ounces. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Brown was charged and arrested accordingly.
26-year-old Angel Miguel Velazquez
Odessa Police arrested Diaz-Velazquez on 11-2-14 for Possession of Methamphetamine “State Jail Felony”, Evading Arrest or Detention “Class A Misdemeanor”, Possession of a Dangerous Drug “Class A Misdemeanor”, and Possession of Marijuana “Class B Misdemeanor”.
Officers observed a silver 1988 Hyundai run a stop sign at 8th Street and the service road on Highway 80. A traffic stop was conducted and as soon as the listed vehicle stopped the driver immediately jumped out. The suspect ran westbound behind an apartment complex in an attempt to evade detention.
Officers eventually caught and apprehended the suspect hiding on top of a roof in the 2600 block of East 10th Street. The suspect was identified as Velazquez. Officers searched the listed vehicle and discovered 6 bars of Xanax, marijuana, and methamphetamine. Velazquez could not provide a prescription for the Xanax.
Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Velazquez was charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center. Velazquez was also cited for running a stop sign and failure to display driver's license.
