MIDLAND-  It's that time of year once again, the most traveled day of the year. Some family coming into town and some going to other destinations. Midland International Air and Spaceport is preparing for the crowd.

"The day before Thanksgiving is always the busiest day of the entire year. Busier than Christmas or any other Holiday," PIO with the City of Midland, Sara Bustilloz said.

The Midland Airport is seeing an influx of plane traffic coming and going off its runways everyday.

"We're pretty use to seeing the growth in our airport as we see in our town and our community, Bustilloz said.

Because of that growth. The airport added new parking which opened up a few weeks ago, its goal is to compete with the Thanksgiving travelers.

"This will be a big test for us with that new parking lot. In many past years we've had to do over flow parking. If we run out of paid parking we would open an empty lot of airport owned land for free and just have people park there," Bustilloz said.

The Airport is hoping to not have over flow parking. Even though the new lot is a walk from the airport.

"If you're traveling with someone who is a little older, you might have to unload them at the front and drive around and walk. So we are urging people to give yourself 90 minutes of time to get through airport security. Even give yourself a little more time to find parking," Bustilloz said.
