EDDY COUNTY, N.M. - The Eddy County Sheriff's Office wants to warn residents of a scam going around.

Someone is calling residents claiming to be a sheriff's deputy.

The scammers then say they have a warrant out for the person's spouse.

They advise the resident they must pay $340 to take care of the warrant.

They even state that they could pay with a Walgreen's card.

The sheriff's office is warning people they do not call people and request money.
