EDDY COUNTY, N.M. - The Eddy County Sheriff's Office wants to warn residents of a scam going around.
Someone is calling residents claiming to be a sheriff's deputy.
The scammers then say they have a warrant out for the person's spouse.
They advise the resident they must pay $340 to take care of the warrant.
They even state that they could pay with a Walgreen's card.
The sheriff's office is warning people they do not call people and request money.
If you get a call like this, call the Eddy County Sheriff's Office.
