Odessa Police Department Top Ten Weekend Felony Arrests

19-year-Old Eric Rodriguez, 21-year-old Joseph Garcia, 20-year-old Brandon Wallace and 20-year-old Jeremiah Thomas

Odessa Police arrested Rodriguez on 11-15-14 at approximately 2330 hours for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, a State Jail Felony. While patrolling the 800 block of West Clements, officers observed a large amount of vehicles loitering in the parking lot. Officers observed a gray Nissan Armada turn off its lights and exit the La Tienda parking lot at a high rate of speed.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on the listed vehicle at Crane and Clements, which was occupied four times. Officers ran the license plate and the vehicle came back stolen. The driver was identified as Rodriguez and the front passenger as Joseph Garcia, date of birth 06/22/1993. The back two passengers exited the listed vehicle and immediately began running southbound through the Ector Junior High parking lot.

Other officers in the area caught one of the back passengers, identified as Brandon Dajuan Wallace-Peterson, date of birth 11/09/1994. Officers also located the second passenger hiding in a tree near Ector County Junior High, who was identified as Jeremiah Thomas, date of birth 01/09/1994. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Rodriguez was charged and arrested accordingly.

Dispatch advised Garcia had three outstanding warrants for Criminal Trespass "Class A Misdemeanor", Possession of Marijuana "Class B Misdemeanor", and Speeding "Class C Misdemeanor". Garcia was charged and arrested accordingly. Investigation revealed Wallace-Peterson was on probation for Aggravated Sexual Assault. Wallace-Peterson was charged with Evading, a Class A Misdemeanor.

Further investigation revealed Thomas was on probation for Aggravated Robbery. Thomas was charged with Evading, a Class A Misdemeanor. Odessa Police had received a call earlier in the day from Kelly Grimsley that four subjects inside a gray Nissan Armada, were attempting to get into vehicles at the dealership. The listed vehicle was returned to its owner. All four subjects were transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.

57-year-old Santos Madrid

Odessa Police arrested Madrid on 11-15-14 at approximately 1830 hours for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Family Violence), a Second Degree Felony. Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Texas in reference to a disturbance between an uncle and a nephew.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with the uncle, identified as Madrid, and the nephew, identified as a 27-year-old Hispanic male. Investigation revealed that after both subjects began arguing, Madrid began throwing rocks at his nephew. Madrid left the residence but later returned with a hammer and threatened his nephew with it.

Madrid later began punching his nephew and then grabbed a rock from the ground and struck his nephew on top of the head, causing bodily injury. Officers observed bodily injury on top of the nephew's head. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Madrid was charged and arrested accordingly.

56-year-old Raul Rivera Chavez

Odessa Police arrested Chavez on 11-14-14 at approximately 1615 hours for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender 2nd Offense. Officers observed a male subject walking northbound across the train tracks. A pedestrian stop was conducted at 1st and Adams and the subject was identified as Chavez. Officers searched Chavez and discovered a crack pipe on his person.

A warrant check through dispatch revealed that Chavez was wanted out of San Jose, California, for failure to register as a sex offender (2nd Offense). Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Chavez was charged and arrested accordingly.

43-year-old Roberto Hernandez

Odessa Police arrested Hernandez on 11-15-14 at approximately 2209 hours for Failure to Pay Child Support "1st Degree Felony" and Possession of Cocaine "State Jail Felony". Officers observed a white 2000 Ford Expedition traveling westbound in the 4100 block of East 42nd Street without its headlights on.

A traffic stop was conducted on the listed vehicle in the 3900 block of East 42nd Street, which was occupied three times. One of the passengers was identified as Hernandez. A warrant check through dispatch revealed that Hernandez had a felony warrant for failure to pay child support.

Hernandez was placed into custody and transported to the ECLEC. While at the jail, Hernandez was stripped searched by deputies and approximately three grams of cocaine was discovered on his person. Hernandez was additionally charged with possession of cocaine.

27-year-old Raymond Tyree Williams

Odessa Police charged Williams on 11-14-14 at approximately 1400 hours with Sexual Assault, a Second Degree Felony. On September 15, 2014, a 25-year-old female reported to the Odessa Police Department that she had been sexually assaulted by Williams. The victim reported that one night she allowed Williams to sleep in her residence.

The victim reported that she was awakened to find that Williams was sexually assaulting her without her consent. Investigation revealed Williams was already in custody at the ECLEC on unrelated charges. Williams admitted to detectives that he did have sexual intercourse with the 25-year-old victim. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, a warrant was obtained for Williams.

22-year-old Pete Anthony Gonzales

Odessa Police arrested Gonzales on 11-16-14 at approximately 1749 hours for Possession of Cocaine "3rd Degree Felony" and Driving While License Invalid with Prior Convictions "Class B Misdemeanor". Officers observed a black 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe traveling at a high rate of speed in the 1800 block of East 42nd Street.

A traffic stop was conducted on the listed vehicle and the driver was identified as Gonzales. Investigation revealed his license was suspended due to multiple convictions of no insurance and no driver's license. Gonzales was placed into custody for driving while license invalid with prior convictions.

Officers searched the listed vehicle and discovered approximately 3.7 grams of cocaine. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Gonzales was charged and arrested accordingly. Gonzales was also cited for speeding in the 1800 block of East 42nd Street.

31-year-old Sirena Jean Free

Odessa Police arrested Free on 11-15-14 at approximately 1934 hours for Theft of Property with at Least Two Prior Convictions, a State Jail Felony. Officers responded to Wal-Mart West (2450 NW Loop 338) in reference to a shoplifter. Upon arrival, Wal-Mart personnel advised they observed a female subject conceal several clothing items and exit the store without making any attempt to pay for the items.

The female subject was identified as Free. Investigation revealed Free had stolen approximately $145 worth of clothing items. All of the items were returned to Wal-Mart. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Free was placed into custody for theft of property. Further investigation revealed Free had four prior theft convictions out of Midland County.

34-year-old Lisa Victoria Luna

Odessa Police arrested Luna on 11-16-14 at approximately 2052 hours for Theft of Property "State Jail Felony" and for Parent Contributing "Class C Misdemeanor". Officers observed a red Ford Expedition traveling in the 800 block of North County Road West with a defective taillight.

A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Luna. Dispatch advised Luna had two outstanding warrants out for her arrest, including a felony theft warrant. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Luna was charged and arrested accordingly.

38-year-old Michael Dean Quine

Odessa Police arrested Quine on 11-16-14 at approximately 1820 hours for Theft of Property with Prior Convictions "State Jail Felony" and False Identification "Class B Misdemeanor". Officers responded to Dillards (4101 East 42nd Street) in reference to a shoplifter.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with Dillards personnel, who advised they observed a male subject stole a shirt and exited the store into the store without making any attempt to pay for it. The shirt, valued at approximately $58, was returned to Dillards. When officers made contact with the suspect, he gave a false name.

Further investigation revealed that suspect's real name was Michael Quine, date of birth 11/06/1976. A criminal check revealed Quine had four prior convictions of theft of property. Quine was charged and arrested accordingly.

33-year-old Gonzalo Herrera

Odessa Police arrested Herrera on 11-17-14 at approximately 0020 hours for Possession of Cocaine "3rd Degree Felony" and Tampering with Physical Evidence "3rd Degree Felony". While patrolling the parking lot of Tequila Bar on foot (2111 East 8th Street), officers heard a female subject say "la policia" to some other subjects who were inside a brown 2013 Dodge Ram.

Officers walked over to the listed vehicle and observed the front passenger holding a semi-folded dollar bill containing a white powdery substance. Officers then observed the subject throw the dollar bill towards the center console and floor in attempt to conceal and possibly destroy evidence. Officers asked the front passenger, identified as Herrera, to step out of the vehicle.
