MIDLAND - An unusual disturbance ended with the arrest of a Midland man earlier this week.

35-year-old Jeffrey Davis is facing felony child endangerment charges for the incident.

Officers were called out to a home on West Spruce on Monday morning around 9:30 a.m.

They spotted Davis standing next to a fence holding a three foot piece of metal pipe with a young girl by his side.

According to the affidavit, Davis told police he was looking for his mother who may have been injured during a fight with multiple people.

However, officers believed he was hallucinating because his story changed and the child told them he was talking to the air.

Police had to catch up with Davis twice after he tried to take off into people's backyards.

Davis later admitted that he had smoked methamphetamine or bath salts the day before and realized that he had been hallucinating.
