BIG SPRING - Big Spring officers are currently investigating two habitation burglaries that occurred early Thursday morning.

The first took place in the 1200 block of W. Sixth. A female subject, preparing for work at approx. 3:50 am, went out to start her vehicle. She went back in the house and left the door unlocked.

She heard a noise and she walked into the hall and was met by a black male subject pointing a gun at her. At this point, her sons were awakened and jumped on the suspect, wrestling him out of the house and to the ground outside.

They were not able to keep him there and the subject left the area on foot. The suspect is described as 5'11" tall, athletic build, wearing all black (hoodie, pants and boots).

At approx. 4:23 am, Officers responded to the 200 block of Circle in reference to a similar incident.

The complainant stated that a black male armed with a handgun had entered her residence through a door left unlocked when family members had just left for work.

The female victim was sleeping with her five grandchildren when she was awakened by the man.

She described the suspect as 6'3" tall, 190 pounds wearing a black jacket and black gloves and was bald.

She advised that he seemed confused and did not point the weapon at her but tried to get her to leave the room with him, she refused and her grandchildren began waking up at which point the suspect left the house.

In both cases the complainants did see a 4 door or extended cab pickup, older model, with loud exhaust. Both cases are under investigation at this time.

If you have any information please contact Crimestoppers at 432-263-TIPS (8477).
