Louisiana Man Killed, Two Others Injured in Ward County Accident

WARD COUNTY – A Louisiana man is dead and two others were injured following an evening accident in Ward County.
The accident happened on State Highway 18, near Monahans just before 10 p.m.
DPS Troopers tell NewsWest 9, a 2005 Dodge Ram was traveling south on State Highway 18 when a 2007 Ford F-150 traveling north somehow went into the southbound lane of traffic causing the vehicles to collide head-on.
The driver of the Ford F-150, 28-year-old John Charles Gibbons of Lafayette, Louisiana, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Dodge Ram, 38-year-old Theresa Diller and a passenger in the F-150, 24-year-old Blasin Scott Bourgeois, were injured in the accident and taken to Ward Memorial Hospital.
We're told that Gibbons was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
