BIG SPRING – Big Spring Police are investigating after a suspicious incident over the weekend.
Big Spring Police tell NewsWest 9, they were called out to the Roy Anderson Sports Complex on Saturday.
Police say that a child was in the parking lot when an older white male told the child to come to him and that he had something for the child.
The child ran off, locked himself in his own vehicle and contacted his mother.
The mother told police that one she was contacted that she got the license plate of the vehicle from the child as the vehicle drove off.
We're told the license plate is registered to an elderly female in Big Spring. However, the person in the suspect vehicle was described as a white male.
Authorities say they don't have enough required information to formally charge anyone with a criminal offense and it is unknown what the suspect's intentions were.
The investigation into the case is ongoing.
