MIDLAND - The Midland City Council proposed an ordinance on Tuesday night that could phase out a lot of billboards.
Right now, 114 billboards reside within the city limits.
The new ordinance could change what's called “The Protection Zone.”
That would mean that portions of Highway 191, the Midland International Air and Space Port and a large area of North Midland will not allow any new billboards.
The proposed ordinance is still in the beginning stages.
A public hearing and vote is set for mid-December.
