ODESSA - A deadly shooting that happened back in April has left one family struggling to find answers.

36-year-old DeWayne Green was visiting Odessa from El Paso and was with a friend when they were both shot several times in the parking lot of the Studio 6 Motel off of Highway 80.

Green didn't make it, and his killer is still out there.

"There's been a ton of investigative work that has gone into this case. The police department has worked diligently on trying to find out exactly what the pieces to this puzzle are," Susan Rogers, with Odessa Crime Stoppers, said. "The biggest issue that they have right now is that they are unable to confirm any real facts in the case."

That's why his wife of three years is teaming up with Odessa Crime Stoppers by reaching out to the public for anyone who may have information, in an effort to bring closure to the family.

I'm having a very hard time coping this this," Green's wife, Tylicia Covington said in a phone interview. "We have a family at home and my kids are without a dad now."

Green was a family man, and spoiled his two young daughters. Covington says, all three of them are still trying to adjust to life without him.

"Everyday is a struggle, but as the holidays approach, they become harder because we always had something to do with the kids. Halloween, Christmas, Thanksgiving, no matter what it was we always had something to do," Covington said. "Everyday is a struggle, I'm suffering. I'm lost. I'm lost without him. I lost the love of my life."

If you have any information on this crime, please call Odessa Crime Stoppers at 333-TIPS.
