ODESSA – The search is now over for a man police were searching for in connection with an injury to a child.
43-year-old Corey Coleman turned himself in to Odessa Police on Tuesday afternoon.
Odessa Police were called out to Dowling Elementary last Wednesday in reference to child abuse.
When the 11-year-old child arrived at school, staff at the school saw bruising all over the child's body.
The student was interviewed by a forensic interviewer and the child stated that this mother and stepfather whipped him all over his body with a belt.
The child's mother was identified as 40-year-old Korekia Lewis and the step-father was identified as Coleman.
We're told police obtained warrants for both Lewis and Coleman.
Lewis was arrested last week.
