PRESIDIO – One man is facing charges after CBP officers found drugs taped to the legs of a paraplegic man.
We're told CBP officers made the discovery last Wednesday at the Presidio Port of Entry.
Officials say a taxi carrying a lone male passenger made entry from Mexico when an officer at an inspection booth noticed suspicious bulges on the passenger's thighs and they performed an immediate pat down.
Two bundles were discovered taped to the thighs of the man and each bundle contained two packages which tested positive for methamphetamine.
The man, 41-year-old Arturo Chavez Solis of Aldama, Chihuahua, Mexico, was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement HSI Agents to face charges associated with the failed smuggling attempt.
