MIDLAND – A man and two women are behind bars following a barricaded subject incident in Midland.
The incident took place in the 4800 block of Dentcrest around 10:45 am.
The Midland County Sheriff's Office tells NewsWest 9, they were conducting surveillance on a subject wanted for Parole Violation.
We're told investigators saw their suspect, 35-year-old Rubin James Long arrive in a small vehicle and walked into a residence in an attempt to evade officers.
Officials say Long fled into the home after seeing the officers and refused to come out after repeated requests and that's when they saw a white female with long gray hair come out of the back of the home and returned back inside.
Long then made contact with the officers by cell phone and told them he was in Odessa and was willing to give himself up.
That's when a perimeter was set up by officials and negotiators, as well as the SWAT Team, were called in.
Just before 2 p.m., the SWAT Unit made entry into the home and took Long into custody along with 66-year-old Bonnie Lee Long and 27-year-old Lisa Lee Morris.
A 13-year-old boy was turned over to Child Protective Services.
All three people were taken into custody without incident.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
