ODESSA - Helping each other rip off a local liquor store is not a good example of teamwork, but that's exactly the tactic this duo used when they stole several bottles of alcohol from Triple R Liquor back in July.

"These two individuals walk into the store, the man walks up to the counter and buys a cigarette lighter while the woman walks to the back and starts looking for some liquor," Susan Rogers with Odessa Crime Stoppers said.

You can see in the video that the man is talking to the cashier about cigarette lighters, asking about the prices, because you know, they tend to vary and it's smart to get a quote on something before you make a big purchase.

Then you can see the woman in the striped shirt walking with her hand on her hip--a little sass in her Class B Misdemeanor stride. The man, meanwhile, was at least kind enough to pay for his new lighter. Whether that was a decoy or not, we'll find out after police question them.

However, he for sure had one decoy up his sleeve.

"The guy's up front playing like he's on the phone. When she gets close to him, she actually yells at him to run and so they both go running out the door with that bottle of liquor," Rogers said.

Pretends to be on the phone? Come on now, haven't we all learned it's rude to talk on our phones at check-out lines?

The video then shows the woman running towards the door. We're told she was yelling "let's go," and of course, he followed. Hey, at least she found a man who listens.

"The two individuals were seen by the clerk getting into a 90s model Ford pickup," Rogers said. "So we think someone may recognize them together and may recognize that vehicle and we'd them to give us a call."
