ODESSA- He says Texas has already taken the necessary steps to handle the issue, but now it's time for federal officials to step in and help.

Abbott also tells us he wants to work with hospitals, so he can be prepared if an outbreak was to happen..

"What I want to do is, I want to collaborate with all healthcare providers. Especially at the hospital level to ensure that everyone understands precisely what the protocols are, with the rules to follow. So, I want to have my chief health officer work with hospitals in every part of the state to make sure that every hospital is prepared to deal with this challenging disease," Abbott said.

One thing Abbott says needs to be done to prevent the spread of Ebola, is to do a better job of securing the ports of entry in to the United States.
