HOWARD COUNTY - The Howard County jail is dealing with a huge problem.
Right now, they can only house 96 inmates and the number of inmates recently hit 100.
At Tuesday's Commissioners court meeting, the sheriff presented the court with two options that could help alleviate the problem.
Howard County can either house overflow inmates in other counties or they could apply to the Texas Jail Commission, which would give them 12 more beds at the jail.
We're told either way, each option would cost the county more money.
Commissioners are expected to discuss the issue at their next meeting later this month.
