The Winners Have Been Chosen for the Midland Fire Department Poster Contest

MIDLAND- The event was held as part of Fire Prevention Awareness Month.

Students from Kindergarten through 12th grade were separated by grade level in four divisions.

In the high school division Midland High School Senior Mike Jacquez took home first prize.

He received one-hundred dollars in cash along with a trophy.

"A lot of people who like, don't really know a lot about fire prevention so with the poster boards, we use them to like, help them prevent fires like, for example, each year, we have a different theme which is smoke alarms this year," Jacquez said.
