MIDLAND – Midland ISD Officials are implementing a new procedure for new students due to the events of the Ebola virus in Dallas.
In a press release to NewsWest 9, all campus office teams will be obtaining a credible travel and contact history from students that are enrolling in MISD.
We're told the following questions will be asked when enrolling any student:
1. “Have you recently lived/traveled outside of the United States?
2. If the response is YES, ask, “What country have you traveled from?”
3. If they are from West Africa, “Have you come in contact with or provided care to anyone who is ill?”
4. If the response is YES, refer to closest hospital and contact school's health department.
If the response is NO, allow class attendance.
For questions or concerns, parents are asked to contact Midland ISD Supervisor of Health Services, Tracey Dees, at (432) 689-1015 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
