New Details Released Regarding Deadly Midland County Accident

MIDLAND COUNTY – DPS officials have released new information regarding a deadly accident that took the lives of two men on Friday morning.
The accident happened on Highway 349 south of Midland at 10 a.m.
We're told that several vehicles were stopped at a red light for construction when a big rig failed to control speed and collided with a 2000 Ford pickup.
The collision caused a chain reaction accident involving three other big rigs and another pickup truck.
That's when the big rig and Ford pickup burst into flames.
29-year-old James Wesley Humphries, who was the driver of the big rig that failed to control speed, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the 2000 Ford pickup, 36-year-old Jesus Vela, also died in the accident.
