MIDLAND - Stephanie Turner was just 30 years old and spent most of her time caring for her kids, who her coworker at Sonic says, were her entire life. Sadly though, her children discovered her lifeless body Tuesday morning, and a hunt for the suspect was on its way.

Neighbors in the 3100 block of West Kansas Street couldn't believe the scene as police spent hours taping off the house and investigating this homicide.

"Like I said, it's a shock. It's a nice neighborhood, I can't believe it myself," Correa Andrews said.

"It's a quiet neighborhood, man. Not too much going on. You know people just be quiet and stay in their houses. I guess it's just not like it used to be, kids don't play on the field no more and it's just very quiet so you hear stuff like this and it's just a whole other story," Rodney Mackey said.

"I've been here all my life and stuff and been around Midland, but never thought it'd come over here to this side of town," Dee Brodnes said.

Her coworkers at Sonic were not able to talk on camera, but one said that Stephanie was a manager there and was well-respected by everyone. They say she was a strong, well-rounded woman, and had a giant heart. They also say that their hearts are broken for her kids.

One family member said she did not want to talk on camera, but said the mother of two was a good person, and did not deserve this.
