ODESSA - Another accusation of an inappropriate relationship with a student is coming out of Odessa.

This time it involves a teacher at a private school.

It seems to be a disturbing trend happening in Odessa schools.

The allegations surround a female teacher at the Latter Rain Christian School.

"This is reported to allegedly have happened at the Latter Rain Christian School here in Odessa," Cpl. Steve LeSueur with the Odessa Police Department, said.

Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9 they were tipped off over the weekend.

"The Odessa Police Department is investigating this because it did occur at a private school, not a public school," LeSueur said.

Officials said there was apparently more than one possible relationship.

"The victims are 17 and 18 years of age now," LeSueur said. "When the actual relationship took place, it was when they were much younger."

Police said the alleged affairs happened two to three years ago.

NewsWest 9 contacted Latter Rain for a comment.

In a statement, the school said they did their own investigation as soon as they became aware, and from what they were told, the allegations seemed to be groundless and based on a rumor. The statement goes on to say the school does their best to ensure the safety of all students and families and they're cooperating with authorities.

No arrests have been made and police aren't releasing any more information at this time.

This is an ongoing investigation and NewsWest 9 will be sure to keep you updated on this developing story.
