ODESSA – One man was arrested on several charges following an incident on Saturday morning.
Odessa Police were called out to the 900 block of West University in reference to a disturbance.
When officers arrived on the scene, they saw a male subject banging on a door to an apartment.
When officers asked to speak with the subject, he immediately took off running and was eventually caught.
The subject was identified as 36-year-old Conrad Cortez.
We're told that Cortez resisted arrest by pulling his hands away from his back and refused to allow officers to place him in handcuffs.
After handcuffing Cortez, officers found cocaine in his pockets and could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath.
Cortez has been charged with possession of cocaine, evading arrest, resisting arrest and public intoxication.
