ODESSA – An Odessa man arrested on several charges after two incidents on Sunday in Odessa.
The first happened in the 700 block of North County Road West when officers responded in reference to a robbery around 4:30 a.m.
A store clerk told police that a Hispanic male wearing a black hoodie walked into the store and asked for a pack of cigarettes.
That's when the man, later identified as 20-year-old Donovan Ybarra, showed a flat head screwdriver and demanded that the clerk empty the cash register.
Ybarra told the clerk not to call the cops and said that he had a buddy with a rifle that would shoot the clerk if he did.
Ybarra left the scene with two packs of cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of money.
Later that morning, officers were called out to the Walgreen's in the 700 block of North County Road West in reference to a suspicious person matching Ybarra's description.
Officers made contact with Ybarra and officers saw that Ybarra was trying to hide items from Walgreen's inside the waistband of his shorts and they could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from him.
Ybarra was then taken into custody for public intoxication.
We're told that through surveillance video, Ybarra was identified as the person involved in the robbery earlier in the morning.
A warrant was obtained for Ybarra for aggravated robbery and he was arrested accordingly.
