MIDLAND - An accident last month left a Midland police officer's pregnant wife with serious injuries.

On Saturday, the Midland Police Department held a car wash to help raise funds for Officer Lee's wife.

She is suffering from a spinal cord injury, broken clavicle and bleeding on the left side of her brain.

The fundraiser was held to help raise money for their medical expenses.

“She was in an accident three weeks ago. She ended up breaking three disks in her back, she tore off one of her ears and then she had a bad laceration in her head with broken ribs and other things. The main thing we're really happy to help them, she's on a long road to recovery,” Sergeant Ben Chavez with the Midland Police Department, said.

We're told the officer's wife is 16 weeks pregnant.
