NewsWest 9 has learned that the men that were trapped on an oil rig near the Ward/Loving County line have been rescued by boats.

We're told that 8-10 people were trapped near the Ward/Loving County line and they were stranded on top of oilfield equipment due to the high waters.

Also, The Gail Fire Chief reported people trapped at Lake JB Thomas in Borden County due to roads around the lake being flooded. Fire Chief in Gail reported most Farm to Market roads across Borden County were flooded and travel was not recommended in Borden County today.

The Howard County Volunteer Fire department has already performed several rescues of persons from their vehicles due to deep water in the Vincent area, NE Howard County, around North FM 1205 and Highway 350. HCVFD Chief Tommy Sullivan says the calls began coming in just before 6 am Saturday. A woman was rescued from her vehicle on 350 at the Vincent turnoff as her vehicle was in about four feet of water in a bar ditch. She was rescued unharmed. Another woman in a van was rescued from deep water on 1205 as well and an elderly gentleman was rescued from his pickup in deep water, also on 1205.
