MIDLAND - A small business networking breakfast was held Tuesday morning at Midland College.
It was hosted by Midland College Business and Economic Development Center.
Businesses from the Basin gathered together to hear a special presentation about hiring and retaining employees.
Willie Taylor, C.E.O. of the Permian Basin Workforce Development Board says housing is the number one issue here but that shouldn't discourage employers.
"You got folks that are really interested in staying with the companies and they want to grow with the companies and continuous learning. It's just about focusing on the need, explaining your company values and working with your employees and making it a continuous learning process for them,” Taylor said.
Taylor also says businesses should be creative, think outside the box and treat employees the way they would want to be treated.
