HOWARD COUNTY - A lawsuit against the Texas Department of Transportation isn't stopping Howard County from improving their roads.
Howard County is going ahead with the road work despite a delay on the grant they received from TXDOT.
County commissioners are spending $400,000 to widen the shoulders on local roads.
Commissioners say it needed to be done anyway and will be using local crews will save them some money.
Work should begin by the end of the year.
The $3.8 million grant is delayed due to a lawsuit between TXDOT and LaSalle County, Texas.
There's no word on when the suit will be settled and the money will be distributed.
