MIDLAND - Midland County Sheriff Gary Painter is ensuring the public that everything is safe and okay.
That's after he was interviewed on CNN about the possibility of ISIS militants coming to the area.
The sheriff made a stop at the Midland County Women's Republican Luncheon on Wednesday where he talked about the security of the area.
He says there is no threat of ISIS here in the basin and that everyone will be able to sleep.
"Midland County is safe. We have city, county, state, federal officers all working towards the same goal. And that is to protect the citizens of Midland County," Painter said.
