REEVES COUNTY - An El Paso man was killed and two others were injured following an accident in Reeves County on Tuesday afternoon.
The accident happened on Interstate 20, about nine miles west of Toyah.
DPS Troopers tell NewsWest 9, a 2000 Saab 9E was traveling eastbound slowly on Interstate 20 with hazard lights on after the driver saw smoke coming from the engine compartment.
We're told an 18-wheeler, who was also traveling eastbound, failed to control speed and hit the Saab from behind.
The driver of the Saab, 58-year-old Santos Ontiveros Avalos of El Paso, was killed in the accident.
Two other people, the driver of the 18-wheeler, 53-year-old Kambiz Behdinian and a passenger in the Saab, 45-year-old Richard Guadalupe Cardenas were taken to Reeves County Hospital in Pecos for treatment.
