39-Year-Old Daniel Kyle Scheible

Odessa Police arrested Scheible on 9-4-14 at approximately 2238 hours for Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or More, a Third Degree Felony. Officers responded to 87th and Rainbow in reference to a medical call. Dispatch advised a male subject was slumped over inside a small white 2-door car and that the car had wrecked into some sign dividers. The vehicle was running and the subject's foot was still on the brake.

Upon arrival, officers observed a white 2-door Scion, occupied by a male subject, identified as Scheible. Officers could smell an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Scheible's breath and person. Scheible refused all sobriety tests. Dispatch advised Scheible had three prior convictions for driving while intoxicated. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Scheible was charged and arrested accordingly.

32-Year-Old Maru Margarita Mendoza-Rios

Odessa Police arrested Mendoza-Rios for Forgery “State Jail Felony” and Theft “Class B Misdemeanor”. Officers responded to 4210 North JBS Parkway in reference to a shoplifter. Wal-Mart personnel advised they observed Mendoza-Rios steal three aquarium ornaments, two aquarium plants, and an air pump. Wal-Mart personnel advised Mendoza-Rios exited the stored with the merchandise without making attempt to par for it. A warrant check revealed that Mendoza-Rios had a felony forgery warrant out for her arrest. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Mendoza-Rios was placed into custody for Theft.

47-Year-Old Terry Wayne Powell

Odessa Police arrested Powell for Possession of Cocaine “State Jail Felony”, Possession of Marijuana “Class B Misdemeanor”, Driving While License Invalid with Prior Convictions “Class B Misdemeanor”, and No Proof of Insurance with Prior Convictions “Class B Misdemeanor”.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on a green 2002 Ford Explorer in the 1300 block of East 4th Street and the driver was identified as Powell. Officers searched the listed vehicle and discovered marijuana and a crack pipe in the center console. Officers also discovered several crack rocks on the driver's floorboard. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Powell was charged and arrested accordingly.

37-Year-Old Frederico Chavez

Odessa Police arrested Chavez yesterday for Burglary of a Building, a State Jail Felony. Back on 8-12-14, officers responded to the 6200 block of Riders in reference to a burglary. Investigation revealed that on 6-25-14, Chavez entered a residential storage building and stole several items out of it.

Further investigation revealed that Chavez had pawned approximately 30 items valued at approximately $2,270, to several pawn shops around Odessa and Midland. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, a warrant was obtained for Chavez, for burglary of a building. Chavez had previously been arrested back on 8-11-14, for robbing an ice cream store.
