Odessa Police Department Press Release
48-Year-Old Gary Frank Drinkard, Jr.
Odessa Police arrested Drinkard on 8-31-14 at approximately 2033 hours for Theft “State Jail Felony” and for a parole violation warrant. Officers responded to 2450 NW Loop 338 (Wal-Mart West) in reference to a shoplifter. Investigation revealed that Drinkard stole merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for it. Dispatch advised Drinkard had multiple prior convictions for theft. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Drinkard was charged and arrested accordingly.
24-Year-Old Sylvester Jose Rubio, Jr.
Odessa Police arrested Rubio on 8-29-4 at approximately 2003 hours for Prohibited Substance in a Correctional Facility “3rd Degree Felony” and a misdemeanor warrant. Officers observed a gold 2000 Honda Accord speeding 11 miles over the posted speed limit in the 1200 block of West Clements. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Rubio. Dispatch advised Rubio had a warrant out for his arrest and he was placed into custody. While at the ECLEC, Rubio dropped several bags of cocaine out of his clothing. Rubio was additionally charged with possession of cocaine.
22-Year-Old Daniel Soliz
Odessa Police arrested Soliz on 9-1-14 at approximately 1930 hours for Theft “Class B Misdemeanor” and for a felony Theft warrant out of Gaines County. Officers responded to 4210 North JBS Parkway (Wal-Mart East) in reference to a theft. Wal-Mart personnel advised they observed Soliz steal a pair of $62 boots and exit the store without making any attempt to pay for them. Soliz was placed into custody for Theft, a Class B Misdemeanor. A warrant check revealed Soliz had a felony theft warrant for theft. Soliz was charged and arrested accordingly.
57-Year-Old Robert Rowland Molina
Odessa Police arrested Molina on 9-3-14 at approximately 1955 hours for Possession of Cocaine, a State Jail Felony. Officers observed a blue Dodge 1500 traveling southbound in the 400 block of Hancock with an expired license plate. A traffic stop was conducted and the passenger was identified as Molina. Officers searched the listed vehicle and discovered cocaine next to the passenger seat. Molina was charged and arrested accordingly.
42-Year-old Nathan Rene Martinez
Odessa Police arrested Martinez on 9-3-14 at approximately 0450 hours for Possession of Cocaine “State Jail Felony” and Assault Causing Bodily Injury (Family Violence) “Class A Misdemeanor”. Officers responded to the 300 block of East 42nd Street in reference to a disturbance. Investigation revealed that Martinez threw a smart phone at his girlfriend, striking her in the face, causing a visible laceration on her face. Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, Martinez was placed into custody for Assault Causing Bodily Injury. While searching Martinez, officers discovered cocaine in his front right pocket. Martinez was additionally charged with possession of cocaine.
