ODESSA - Odessa Police have an app out for smartphones.

The "Text Ya Later" app is aimed at educating people on the dangers of texting while driving.

When turned on, the app will send an automatic response to any text saying, "I'm driving, text ya later" or a customized response.

It also has G.P.S. to tell people where you're at.

Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9 that teens are most likely the ones to text and drive and that is a concern.

Right now, the app is only available for Android.

Police say the app is in the works for iPhone.
