ANDREWS - Hot Rod's, it's something you wouldn't expect to see in Andrews. A town that until last November prohibited the sell of alcohol.

"I thought it would be something cool to open up here. There is nothing really like that here," Wesley Rodriguez, Co-owner of Hot Rod's, said.

The beer barn let's you order your favorite six pack, bottle of wine or margarita without ever leaving your car.

"Oh, that's the best part! You just drive up, they come to the truck and just get you whatever you need," Customer, Paul Quintanilla, said.

Hot Rod's is the first of its kind for the small town. It opened last Saturday, August 30 and already it seems to be a big hit with the community.

"We sold probably about 300 cases the first day," Wesley said.

"I think it's cool. I like it," Abel Garza, a customer, said.

"Cold drinks, cold beer," Quintanilla said.

As the first place dedicated to alcohol consumers in Andrews, they went all out. They have over 50 beers you can choose from. If alcohol isn't your thing, you're in luck as they also have sodas and snacks you can drive up and ask for.

"I mean I like it. I come through here too with my family and my girls like to come and get popcorn and chips and stuff so I don't have to get off with them at the store," Jesus Rodriguez, co-owner of Hot Rod's, said.

After getting inspiration from another town, the owner is happy to see his hard work pay off.

"A few months ago, I went to a beer barn in San Antonio, Beer N' All, and I thought it would be cool to open up something like that here," Wesley said.

At 28 degrees, it's the coldest beer in town!
