ODESSA - Big changes are coming for schools in Odessa.

Starting next school year, three new elementary schools will be opening.

School officials tell NewsWest 9, they've decided on the three names for the schools.

They are Edward K. Downing Elementary, G.E. Buddy West Elementary and Lee Buice Elementary.

The junior highs will be transitioning to middle schools and that means sixth grade will be included with seventh and eighth grade.

They also voted to rename hood junior high to Wilson-Young Medal of Honor Middle School.
