KERMIT - People who live in Kermit could be paying a higher water bill.
The city just has to give final approval for the rate hike.
They're looking at raising the rate a dollar for every 5,000 gallons used.
For every 1,000 gallons after that, the rate would go up 20 cents to $2.80.
Public hearings will be held on September second and ninth.
The city will make a final decision after that.
Last November, a petition was going around to fight the water rate increase.
