MIDLAND – A Midland man is dead following an early morning rollover accident.
The accident happened in the 8100 block of West Highway 191 on Saturday morning just before 2:30 a.m.
Midland Police tell NewsWest 9, a Ford Explorer Sport Trac was driving eastbound on Highway 191 from FM 1275 when witnesses saw his vehicle veer into the center median and roll over into the westbound lanes.
The driver of the Explorer, 25-year-old Stephen Hill of Midland, was ejected onto the roadway and was hit by another vehicle traveling westbound as that driver attempted to avoid Hill's vehicle.
Hill was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses also told police that they were in the process of contacting police before the accident as they saw Hill's vehicle weaving on the roadway.
We're told that alcohol is being considered as a possible factor in the accident.
Officials say Hill was the only person in the vehicle and he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
