Woman Arrested For Leaving the Scene of an Accident

Odessa Police arrested 20-year-old Sylvia Rascon on 8-17-14 for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Driving While Intoxicated.

Officers responded to the 1200 block of Harris in reference to car-pedestrian accident. Investigation revealed that a silver 2007 Chrysler 300 was parked in the alley of the 1200 block of Harris.

The victim reported that an unknown female, later identified as Rascon, entered his Chrysler 300 and began driving it. The victim reported that Rascon put the vehicle in reverse while he was holding onto the back of it, causing him to sustain injuries to his head and right arm. The victim refused to be transported to the hospital. Rascon then hit a brick fence with the back of the vehicle and fled the scene at a high rate of speed down University.

Officers located the stolen vehicle in the 800 block of Snyder with Rascon still in it. Officers determined that Rascon was intoxicated. Rascon was charged and arrested accordingly.
