BIG SPRING – Two men were injured following a weekend stabbing in Big Spring on Saturday.

The stabbing happened in the 1300 block of Park around 1 a.m.

Big Spring Police tell NewsWest 9 when they arrived on the scene, they found 30-year-old Joshua Pierce and 58-year-old John Sipes injured.

An investigation revealed that several people were at a home in the 1300 block of Park drinking when at some point Sipes was accused of touching Pierce's wife inappropriately.

We're told Sipes then left the home, went next door where Pierce went to talk to Sipes about the incident.

Officials say Pierce was talking with a third person when Sipes came into the room and stabbed Pierce twice in the right side.

That's when Pierce turned toward Sipes and started punching him, knocking him unconscious.

Both men were taken to the emergency room and Sipes was later transported to Lubbock due to serious facial injuries. We're told Pierce was kept at the hospital in order to surgically remove part of the knife blade that broke off during the stabbing.

There's no updates on their conditions at this time and no charges have been filed yet.

No other injuries were reported and the investigation into the incident is continuing.
