Midland Police Department Press Release

The Midland Police Department made four arrests Wednesday in connection with organized criminal activity involving credit cards stolen from vehicles.

Detectives worked several weeks on the case, which stemmed from several surveillance videos in various stolen credit card cases showing suspects who looked similar to each other. After establishing multiple individuals of interest, police utilized Midland CrimeStoppers and received several tips that validated the identities of the suspects.

After several interviews, detectives determined that 21-year-old Robert Perkins, 18-year-old Rachael Taylor and a 14-year-old male juvenile had stolen several credit cards from vehicles and used them to purchase goods such as video game consoles, sound systems and other electronics. Those goods were then taken to a pawn shop by 50-year-old Cynthia Powell for money, the investigation revealed.

Taylor, Perkins, Powell and the male juvenile suspect were charged with engaging in organized criminal activity, and Perkins and the juvenile also face charges of burglary of a vehicle. Powell was also arrested for theft-related charges.
