MIDLAND COUNTY - Midland County judges have been summoning people who have skipped out on their jury duty for the most part they say it's been effective.

However, some people still have not shown up for their show cause order and now the law is personally summoning them to court.

The Midland County Courthouse has been issuing Show Cause Orders since June.

That's is where no shows will have to stand in front of a judge and explain why they didn't show up.

If the excuse isn't a good one, they'll have to pay up with either 180 days of confinement or a fine of anywhere between $100 to $1,000.

Midland County says so far they've made about $58,000 off of people not fulfilling their civic duties.

The Midland County Courthouse says they will continue to hold these show cause orders thru October.
