MIDLAND - One of Midland's new elementary schools has been officially named.
The school on the southwest side of town will be called Barbara Yarbrough Elementary.
It was named to honor long-time educator Barbara Yarbrough.
Yarbrough has been with the school district for 55 years.
She started off at Carver Junior-Senior High School and has taught at Washington, Crockett, Milam, Pease and South Elementary.
The school will be located at 6000 Riverfront Drive and is expected to be open by fall of next year.
