Odessa Man Arrested on Numerous Charges

Odessa Police arrested Duran on 8-11-14 for Possession of Cocaine "2nd Degree Felony", Evading in a Motor Vehicle "3rd Degree Felony", Failure to Stop and Render Aid "3rd Degree Felony", No Proof of Insurance "Class B Misdemeanor". Duran was also arrested for additional warrants, including out of Upton County.

Officers responded to 23rd and West County Road in reference to a hit and run. Officers located the actor vehicle at 23rd and Kermit Highway. Officers activated their emergency lights and attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the actor vehicle sped up and evaded officers while running stop signs.

The actor vehicle was located at 21st and Andrews Highway and the driver was identified as Duran. Investigation revealed Duran had failed to control speed in the 2200 block of North County Road West and struck the vehicle in front of him, causing the driver to be transported to Medical Center Hospital with serious bodily injury.

Officers searched Duran's vehicle and located marijuana, drug paraphernalia and over four grams of cocaine. Duran was arrested for several charges, including three felonies and several outstanding warrants.
