ODESSA - Animal Control officials in Odessa held a meeting with their new manager and coordinator on Thursday.
The meeting was held in one of the conference rooms at the police department.
The committee talked about fundraising and volunteer opportunities as well as ways to do more on the adoption side of the facility.
Shelter manager Jacque Adimare says she wants to make the public more aware of the animal shelter's presence.
She's also hoping to educate people about a big issue with pets.
“We'll also be going out into the community and doing some more education. Not only at colleges, but also at the high school levels and stuff like that, doing the importance of spay and neutering,” Animal Shelter Manager, Jacque Adimare, said.
Adimare added that the shelter is planning to start advertising when they have puppies and kittens available for adoption.
