BARSTOW, Texas (AP) - Union Pacific Railroad has reopened a West Texas line damaged when a freight train and a truck hauling water collided.
UP spokesman Jeff DeGraff said Wednesday that work continues to move derailed cars that blocked a side line and a traffic crossing near Barstow.
A truck driver was hospitalized following the accident Sunday afternoon at the crossing about 50 miles southwest of Odessa. Three locomotives and 10 cars derailed. The train was hauling various cargo, in containers, from California to Shreveport, Louisiana.
DeGraff says the main rail line reopened Monday night but repairs continue at the crossing.
