BIG SPRING - Big Spring Police have arrested a man who allegedly went into a home and was caught kissing a young girl.
"I kinda felt like someone was touching me but I was asleep so hard that I thought no. I rolled over and then I start hearing things. I hear a man speak saying, 'can you keep a secret?' And my daughter said, 'you mean not tell my mommy?' I heard that and it just clicked. I sat up and this man was on top of my daughter and he was kissing her," The victim's mother said.
The woman, who doesn't want to be identified, said Paul Hildreth came into her home and kissed her six year old daughter. She claimed her and her daughter had fallen asleep on the couch with the door unlocked and that's how the predator got in.
"He sits up to act like nothing happened and I ask him what are you doing here? He tells me that a person told him to meet him here and I told him no! You need to get out of the house! He said no, I'm going to stay the night here. I said no you're not!" the mother said.
The woman said she started chasing Hildreth out of the house and he got in his truck and left. She then dialed 911.
"While the officer was standing in the front yard of the residence, the subject drove by. So the officer got into his vehicle, attempted to stop him, he refused, there was a short pursuit but after awhile he was pulled over," Sgt. Tony Everett with the Big Spring Police Department, said.
However, the story doesn't end there. Turns out Paul Hildreth was already a registered sex offender who was out on parole. According to the DPS website, Hildreth was sentenced for 11 years back in 1991 for indecency with a child. The victim then was 10 years old.
The mother told NewsWest 9 she has seen Hildreth in passing but does not know him and she has no idea how he knew she had children.
