ODESSA – One man is behind bars on several charges after an incident in Odessa on Tuesday.
Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9, they were called out to the Sahara Motel in reference to a criminal trespass.
When officers arrived, the motel manager told police that 37-year-old Tommy Lee Branch was inside a room that wasn’t being rented out and he wasn’t supposed to be in.
Branch was arrested for criminal trespass and taken to jail.
After Branch was taken to jail, officers learned that Branch, who was secured in a police vehicle, took out a bag of methamphetamine from his right sock, dumped the bag of drugs and swept it across the floorboard.
Branch faces charges of tampering with physical evidence, possession of methamphetamine and criminal trespass.
