UPDATE: Aggravated Robbery Suspect Facing Multiple Charges

UPDATE:  Aggravated robbery suspect charged with multiple felonies. 


Here are the updated charges for 28-year-old Jarius Briggs.


Charges:   1) Aggravated Robbery "F1" (Warrant) 

                2) Theft "MB" (Warrant)
                3) Theft "MB" (Warrant)
                4) Theft "MB" (Warrant)
                5) Theft "MC" (Warrant)
                6) Open Container "MC" (Warrant)
                7) Fail to Appear "MC" (Warrant)
                8) Possession of Cocaine "SJF"
                9) Possession of Drug Paraphernalia for Use "MC" (Cited)
               10) False Identification - Fugitive From Justice "MA"

On 7-24-14 at approximately 1245 hours, officers received information that Briggs was in the 400 block of Snyder wearing a gray shirt and pink shorts. OPD detectives responded and located a subject matching the suspect's description. After officers handcuffed the suspect, he advised his name was Marcus Owens. The suspect later admitted that he had gave a false name and was properly identified as Briggs. Officers searched Briggs and discovered a metal crack pipe along with crack cocaine on his person. Briggs was charged and arrested accordingly.

ODESSA - The search for an aggravated robbery suspect has ended.

Police were looking for 28-year-old Jarius Jareel Briggs.

Briggs was wanted for an aggravated robbery that happened at Smoker’s Outlet on Tuesday in Odessa.

Odessa Police tells NewsWest 9, Briggs was arrested on Thursday in the 400 block of Snyder and a total of four warrants were served against him.

Police also said they would like to thank the public for their assistance with this case.
