TOM GREEN COUNTY - A Midland girl is dead and several others were injured after an ATV accident in Tom Green County.
The accident happened on Saturday evening at the El Escondrijo Ranch on Highway 87.
The Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office tells NewsWest 9, they found a 2011 Polaris Ranger, driven by 12-year-old Anayavilet Almazan had rolled over.
Officials say several people, who were passengers in the Ranger, were from Midland. Those victims included 28-year-old Victor Villa, 30-year-old Caesar Almazan, 22-year-old Arnulfo Villa, seven year old Veaney Villa, four year old David Munoz, three year old Abigail Villa and seven year old Yazlyn Almazan.
Officials say that Anayavilet Almazan, as well as Victor Villa, David Munoz and Abigail Villa were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Anayavilet was later pronounced dead at the hospital and all others were treated. However, the extent of their injuries is unknown.
Witnesses told officials that Anayavilet was heading northbound along a dirt road on the ranch when the driver lost control of the Ranger causing it to roll over at least one time.
No further information has been released and the investigation is ongoing.
